Roadtrips--Minnesota's Largest Candy Shop
Remember when you were young, and your family would drive off with the baby to put it to sleep? Classic parenting move. Well, we went on a drive too, but a Big Girl Drive.
Minnesota's Largest Candy Shop. A few giant barn like building that weld together to create a candy emporium. Aisle by aisle crammed full of candy. Closets and wall space stacked high with puzzles. Entryway fully stalked with hundreds of different sodas. Don't forget their fresh caramel apples in the fall, which are utterly amazing. If you're wondering what 2 long aisles of licorice looks like, this is where you go.
Rose, Dad and I pile into our minivan, pockets fully stocked with cash and hopes high. Road trip 70s music blasting from the speakers giving us high hopes...only to get even better. We stop at Quick-Trip, where we decide on some chocolate milk and a new speaker plug-in. Around this time, we are around 7 miles away from the Candy Shop, eagerly waiting for the cashier to finish printing our check.
Soon enough, the giant yellow barn came into view. Cars filled the huge parking lot, leaving only a few spots. We were lucky to get one. We climbed out of our gray sienna, a pace quickening the closer we get to the shop. When we finally open the door, a variety of sweet scents and sounds of happy people hit us like a car.
I jumped in, grabbing an oversized basket and blending into the sea of people. I explored every candy, looking in every crevice of the shop. I looped around the shop, taking around 45 minutes just to look. After process of elimination for my basket, I chose my special candy items and paid for them.
Would I recommend Minnesota's Largest Candy Shop? Easily. Except during the winter. When it's closed. If you ever go, here are a few tips:
-Try and focus on the candy you can't find at Walgreens, Target, or Walmart.
-Get one special item that you are really excited about
-Have a budget in mind BEFORE you walk in
Thats it! Well, happy candy shopping. Oh! One more thing! Make sure you don't eat too much candy. I learned that the hard way...
